The position requirements for the Machine Shop Quality Inspector position are as follows:
EDUCATION :
Two-year degree in Machine Tool Technology, or a high school diploma/general education degree (GED) with equivalent experience is required.
EXPERIENCE :
Minimum of 2 years related experience working in a manufacturing team with machinists and engineers preferred. Experience in metrology required. Reading and interpreting single part, as well as assembly drawings experience required. Knowledge of and experience operating/ programming of CMM preferred. Basic knowledge in metallurgy and instrument calibration helpful. Familiar with Zeiss CMM/Calypso is a plus.
The successful candidate will work well as a team player with minimal supervision; maintain a high degree of organization, reporting capabilities, effective communication and be capable of interacting with internal and external customers.
SPECIFIC TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE :
Must have fundamental mechanical and mathematical inspection knowledge.
Must be familiar with ISO specifications and standards and have robust knowledge of GD&T, and blueprint interpretation.
LOCATION : Traverse City
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Follow standardized procedures and instructions for in-process and final inspections across a wide variety of customized parts and assemblies with very close tolerances and specifications.
Determine method of inspection and set up requirements on first article parts. Prepare and maintain all required Quality Assurance forms.
Program CMM for automated part verification and be familiar with the use of all inspection hand gauging including but not limited to; micrometers, thread gauges, dial indicators, vernier calipers, height gauges, internal and external thread gauges, ID/OD mics, bore gauges, etc.
Coordinate the inspection planning of each job, documenting and plotting inspection data on a computer.
Identify and define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw and present valid conclusions. Responsible for interpreting an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
The Production Planner role is a key member of the operations team. This role provides our factory with the plan to achieve on-time order delivery and utilize our entire capacity including external supply chain. The Production Scheduler is responsible for creation of shop routers, purchasing requirements and capacity plans that will facilitate the flow of information and materials among and between departments according to an established production schedule.
The requirements for this position are as follows:
EDUCATION :
Associate Degree in Manufacturing Technologies preferred. Will consider a candidate with relevant job experience in a related manufacturing field. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
EXPERIENCE :
Experience in a scheduling or related role in a manufacturing environment preferred. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience with JD Edwards is preferred. Must have strong problem solving and analytical skills.

REPORTS TO : Production Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES :
Develop effective shop routings for parts production from engineered drawings.
Review part requirements generated by PRP or Kanban program triggers.
Evaluate material requirements needed for internal and external manufacturing use.
Monitor delivery schedules for customer orders.
Check uncommitted material and availability of capacity.
Maintain excellent working relationships with all associated personnel / departments.
Develop inventory goals and monitor production to achieve the target inventory levels.
Work with Operations to maintain finished goods inventory at target levels.
Communicate proactively with team members and suppliers to resolve issues that may impact the facility’s ability to meet shipping schedules.
Create and maintain achievable production schedules of machined components that meet both internal and external requirements. Create and maintain an excellent working rapport with all associated personnel and suppliers.

The Bench Hand position is responsible for the assembling product according to blueprint specifications. In addition, this position performs some product processing duties, as well as shipping and receiving duties.
The requirements for this position are as follows:
EDUCATION :
High school diploma required. Certificate or technical training in a vocational program strongly preferred. Experience in a manufacturing setting is strongly preferred.

Machinists are responsible for setting up and operating varieties of machines to fabricate work pieces to blueprint specifications. This position is responsible for the set up and operation of conventional machining equipment to produce components efficiently and accurately. The CNC & Grind Machinist is responsible for programming, set-up, and operation of CNC mills, lathes, and/or grinding machines. This role is responsible for the efficient run of production lots and inspection of work produced using a wide range of precision measurement instruments.

SPECIFIC TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE :

Skill in load / unload parts on machines to support maximum spindle utilization time.
Skill in inspection of machined parts to verify conformance to customer requirements.
Ability to detect malfunctions in machine operations, such as worn or damaged cutting tools.
Ability to work from engineering drawings.

Complete and maintain paperwork for parts.
